Francisco Lopez

My name is Francisco Lopez, I’m a mexican-american undergraduate student of Philosophy with a minor in English Literature and I'm also pursuing a certificate in Exile Studies. I'm primarily interested in continental philosophy as well as modern and postmodern literature. Specifically, I'm interested in deconstruction and the ways in which a deconstructive perspective gives space for the hyphenated identity that so many of us live as in the world. I was born in El, Paso Texas and my parents are both alumni of the University of Texas at El Paso. I moved to Miami when I was five, where I miraculously lost my ability to articulate myself in Spanish. I'm excited to be in community with people who have the similar goals and experiences as me while also learning ways in which pertinent information can be expressed the public in an accessible way.
