Hermes Rocha

Hermes Rocha graduated from College of the Canyons (COC) in May 2015 with an Associates in Arts with an Emphasis in Philosophy (Honors). He decided to continue his education and attend California State University, Northridge (CSUN) while majoring in Philosophy and Religious Studies.

Hermes was born in South Central Los Angeles and was raised there until he was 15 years old. Following this period, he would live out the rest of his community college experience from Lancaster, California which is part of the Los Angeles County. He now resides in San Fernando Valley in order to complete his studies at CSUN.

Under the guidance of his Mentor Assistant Professor Linda Alvarez of the Department of Central American Studies, he will be conducting research to answer the question of whether an authentic Latin American Philosophy exists in the history of rebellion and resistance of Indigenous people who inhabit Latin America.
