Amanda Washington

Amanda is a Ph.D. student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education and a research associate for the Center for Minority Serving Institutions. She completed an M.A. in Education Policy at Teachers College, Columbia University, an M.A. in TESOL at American University, and a B.A. in English from Spelman College. Previously, Amanda served as a Teach for America corps member and worked for the Center for International Education Exchange in Adra, Spain. She has completed graduate internships with the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans and the White House Initiative for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Her research interests focus on the correlation between students’ P-12 academic preparedness and their postsecondary outcomes.
