Gabriela Diaz

My name is Gabriela (Gabi) Diaz and I am from Miami, Florida. I am a student at Florida International University and am currently an English and History major. My areas of research interest include rhetoric and composition (from Chaucer’s uses to rhetorics in fields like current day education) for social justice purposes and multimedia efforts to bring forth the voices of Latinx humanities students and their creative and academic works prominently in spheres outside of the academy and its current constraints. In the HSI Pathways Program, I look forward to learning about resources for graduate school that I and my peers can help promote to a larger audience, learning mindfulness and mental well-being techniques, and learning more about current graduate school and academy structuring to work on building something more equitable in its place with all my peers.
